Ultrasound scans use sound waves to build a picture of the baby in the womb. The scans are completely painless, have no known side effects on mothers or babies and can be carried out at any stage of pregnancy. Talk to your midwife, GP or obstetrician about any concerns you have. Although having a scan in pregnancy is usually a happy event, please be aware that ultrasound scans do occasionally detect some serious problems.
As we move out of the Covid-19 Protection Framework Traffic Light System you will be allowed a maximum of TWO adult support people to attend. We ask that you do not bring children with you as the sonographer needs to concentrate to ensure the best for you and your baby. Please be aware that our support person policy is subject to change at anytime.
EchoNorth do NOT offer private Gender scans. Scans will only be performed for clinical reasons with a valid referral form from a New Zealand registered Doctor or Midwife.
Please note that as of 13th November 2023 there is a $40 charge on all Dating and Viability scans, $55 charge on 12 week Nuchal Translucency scans, $60 charge on 20 week Anatomy scans and $55 charge on all Growth and Growth Follow-Up scans.
